- Provides the state the ability and criteria to discipline Registered Interior Designers who do not practice based upon these higher standards
- Establishes a Registry within the Secretary of State's Office
- Practicing Interior Design professionals can be grandfathered into Registered Interior Designers for a period of two (2) years after the law is passed and the rules for registration have been established
The Bill
- Establishes a measurable set of criteria for the Registration of Interior Designers including education, experience and examination
- The criteria is based upon nationally recognized standards - NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualifications)
- Provides the public and other design professionals with a list of Registered Interior Designers who meet a higher level of qualification based upon a base level of experience, education and examination and who will base their design on the standards of Health, Safety and Welfare of the public
