S.A.F.E.

The Indiana Interior Design Coalition is the collective voice of Indiana interior designers established to protect public health and safety through the adoption of nationally recognized interior design standards.

These standards enable the public to identify qualified interior designers and ensure SAFE (Slip resistant, Accessible, Fire Codes, Ergonomics) environments. Every member of the task force counts, we need your help. Your support will help get the legislation passed to register interior design professionals in the state of Indiana.

UPDATE (5.12.09):

Dear SAFE Coalition Members and Friends,

We received word today the HB1573 including the Interior Design Registration Legislation has been signed by Governor Mitch Daniels.  The SAFE Interior Design Coalition Board would like to thank each and every one of you for every phone call, email, face to face meeting, every effort on behalf of this legislation. 

The effort has been great.  On behalf of the SAFE, I commend all of you.  I think it is appropriate to say that we have all matured into true leaders.  We have secured a better future for the profession and the discipline of interior design in our State. 

Most importantly, we have elevated the value of our profession for our youngest professionals and our students who are quickly becoming the next generation of creative talent representing the discipline of interior design.

Our work does not end here.  The mechanics have yet to be set up, but a huge milestone has been crossed and we did it together.  Thank you all!
