S.A.F.E.
The Indiana Interior Design Coalition is the collective voice of Indiana interior designers established to protect public health and safety through the adoption of nationally recognized interior design standards.
These standards enable the public to identify qualified
interior designers and ensure SAFE (Slip resistant, Accessible,
Fire Codes, Ergonomics) environments. Every member of the task
force counts, we need your help.
Your support will help get the legislation passed to register
interior design professionals in the state of Indiana.
UPDATE (3.7.08):
I am sad to report that we were not successful yesterday at the Statehouse. The Senate vote was 15 to 31 in favor of the Governor’s veto.
At the end of the day, the issue for the Senate was not our bill, but going against their Governor. It was a political decision – unfortunately.
We had a small group there yesterday and I want to thank everyone for their efforts. I have heard they were impressed by our efforts and we certainly did a lot of face to face with them.
A big thank you to Brian Burdick – he has worked very hard for us this year and we made a lot of progress in the Governor’s office – due to the fact we didn’t just accept his veto. I do believe there is a wider door for us to attempt this again next year.
We cannot give up on this effort! I cannot encourage you enough to get behind this effort and begin now to work with SAFE next year. We are very close to getting this done for our state!
Thanks to all who supported us this year – everything we do is one step closer to our goal and I do believe we will make this happen!!!
